The focus of this course is to prepare handlers and their dogs for Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) competition at the Open and Utility levels. Building on the skills learned in previous obedience classes, you will work with your dog on the long sit, and down with handler out of sight. You will also work on the moving stand. More work will be done on improving the dog’s recall and the drop on recall. Much emphasis is placed on heeling with attention. Retrieving the dumbbell and hand signals will be taught. The focus of the class will depend on how advanced the dogs are. Due to size restrictions of the training facility, only small jumps will be used (i.e., non regulation sized jumps). This class is limited to 4 dogs. This is an ongoing class where dogs progress at their own rate until they are ready to enter a CKC trial.

Please bring your dog's vaccine certificate to first class.

All dogs must have their core vaccines (or titres) as recommended by your veterinarians.  While not compulsory, it's highly recommended that dogs are also inoculated against Bordetella.
